I just discovered your site, and I am enjoying reading about your adventures. When we lived in the Chicago area, we walked our dog in temps as low as -20f. We wore snowmobile suits and found that we had to unzip the sides to keep from overheating! Mittens are warmer than gloves. The only problems were keeping our feet warm, and keeping our breath from fogging our glasses. The dog's paws would become packed with snow and we'd have to stop and help her dig the stuff out from between her toes. How long will you be in Antarctica?

Just wondering Dan...will you actually go outside when the temps are -30 or -40? Also when you are talking about the temps are you talking degrees Celcius? You should build a Snowman just to see how long it could last in the weather! I really like reading this Blog!

Just caught up on your Blog Dan! Congrats on the trip to the deep down-under. I am at the edge of my seat to hear what insights you bring back from the bottom of the world.

Perhaps you could do a post about what kind of magnetic/solar/cosmic anomalies there are to be had down south.

Enjoy!
